Meet the Alchemist!
Josiah grew up in New Zealand with a passion for food and nature. Growing up with a mum who dried fresh pasta over the wood stove, baked fresh treats regularly and had a love for food fueled his passion and desire to be in the kitchen. At age 16, he began a career as a baker and early on discovered ways to be creative with his culinary treats.
After meeting Courtney at age 22, he moved to the US and began working in Michelin star restaurants as a pastry chef and mastering the art of culinary expression. His personal passion for the source of ingredients and the power of mother nature lead him to experiment with combinations that nourish the body and also excited the tastebuds. This merge of cooking, nature and wellness fueled his desire to explore formulating natures most powerful ingredients into one blend. Being a native kiwi, he chose New Zealand Manuka Honey as the base for the taste, consistency and health benefits. Josiah and Courtney then hand picked each ingredient they dreamed for the blend based on their health benefits and the unique properties the ingredient provided. Today the honeyblends are the spoonful they dreamed of and now share with others.
Josiahs' passion for health, nature and food is the creative spirit that formulates the Manuka Mana blends. Manuka Mana will continue to evolve due to his unique inquisitiveness for the bridge of food science, taste and health. Now with the use of the ultrasonic extraction machine, his culinary expression is never ending and he is always thinking of the next formulation.
When he isn't formulating or creating for Manuka Mana, you can find Josiah still in the kitchen creating unique cocktails and experiences for dinner guests. Otherwise, he will be on a trail run along the Deschutes or exploring the mountains with his family, Courtney, Koa (5) and Lily (2).
